Edirol's UA25 USB stereo audio interface has been a popular choice for laptop users and home studio owners on a budget since its release. But to make it even more desirable, Edirol have updated it, with the launch of the UA25EX. The new model, which will supersede the original UA25, has more refined mic preamps and features an upgraded input limiter section, with two new settings. There's a threshold knob on the front panel, too, so you can dial in the exact amount required for your application. Also new is a ground-lift switch, which helps to remove hum caused by the earth loops often encountered when using laptops and the like.
Like its predecessor, it can record at 24-bit/96kHz and has optical digital inputs and outputs. It ships with Cakewalk's Production Plus Pack, which includes LE versions of Sonar, Project 5 and Dimension.
Despite the improvements, the UA25EX will retail at £169, and is expected to be available in September. More information can be found at the. Recently purchased Pro Tools 10 for use with Edirol UA-25ex usb interface. System; Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit i7 2600k 8Gb RAM I went through the usual steps - installed latest W7 64 bit drivers for Edirol, installed PT10 from the dvd, installed instruments, installed latest quicktime, plugged in ilok and opened PT10 After about 10-20 seconds the following error msg appears; 'pro tools hardware is either not installed or in use by another program' The only option I have is to click ok and PTools quits. If I try the hold N option while starting PT I get to the window where I can choose either PRO TOOLS I/O or the UA-25ex as my device but either option causes PT to quit. I have tried changing settings in windows sounds to both allow and disallow applications to take exclusive control of my Edirol - same result PT won't load. I installed ASIO4ALL and Pro Tools will start but I can't switch to my Edirol in Playback Engine menu? Any help would be great, I wonder if maybe the interface isn't supported even though - and I quote - the Pro Tools 10 info page states; Or pair Pro Tools with any other audio interface that supports any of the following drivers: ASIO Core Audio MME Multi-client WDM. Hi, same problem here with edirol ua 101.
I cannot start pro tools, always the error message: 'pro tools hardware is either not installed or in use by another program' i asked support for help, 2 weeks ago and getting no answer, just a f. number. Its my first time with pro tools, i thought pro tools is professional!?

Edirol Ua-25ex Usb Audio Interface
UA-25EX Cakewalk/Edirol iPad Question. Hi There Trying to get my Cakewalk UA-25EX to work on my iPad4 using the Auria Recording App to no avail. I'm pretty much using everything I'm meant to (Apple USB-Lighting Camera Kit + Powered Hub) still nothing. I've even tried the two driver settings on the back of the unit UA-25EX.

My powered hub and camera kit definitely work as I'm typing this now in Safari on the iPad using a USB keyboard. Although Auria lists the UA-25EX as a working interface for its App using iPads 1-4, it does so in relation to the Edirol version of the UA-25EX and not the Cakewalk. Therefore, I'm thinking this may be the problem? I seem to recall the same incompatibility issue happening to me when I tried to run Pro Tools 9 using my Cakewalk UA-25EX when the Air Users Blog listed the Edirol version as the one tested to work. Are the Edirol and Cakewalk versions different?
Edirol Ua-25ex Not Working
I thought they were the same product with the Cakewalk version merely being re-badged to Edirol? I may have been somewhat naive to assume this mind you. It would be handy to know this prior to contacting the Auria App developer who state that any class 2 compliant USB interface will work. Is the Cakewalk version of the UA-25EX USB class 2 compliant? Any info or ideas would be greatly appreciated.
